India BIS certification acquisition service

Support for obtaining BIS certification to ensure products are delivered to the Indian market
While India is an important business destination for many Japanese companies, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification system is applied to steel products as a mandatory requirement under law, and failure to comply could result in restrictions on exports and sales. Reliable BIS certification is essential for stable business development in the Indian market.
Service details
IS number verification and interview
We will organize the BIS certification numbers (IS numbers) and related requirements that apply to steel products, and confirm which standards and systems the target products fall under.
After that, we conduct interviews and hearings at the factory to accurately understand the manufacturing process and quality control system, and clarify the conditions and issues necessary for BIS compliance.

Document preparation
BIS certification requires the following documents and certificates in English: manufacturing facility details (layout and production process), proof of quality control system, technical documents on safety and compliance, test result reports, and inspection support documents.
We will work with your quality assurance and sales departments to accompany you through the creation, organization, and submission of the necessary documents.
3
Interpretation during factory audits
BIS certification includes product testing (in an external laboratory or accredited laboratory) and factory audits by BIS auditors. We can assist with scheduling visits to Japan for factory audits, providing interpretation during audits, and translating technical documents.
Post-acquisition support
Even after obtaining BIS, you must submit the shipping invoice number and mill sheet on the BIS portal site every time you ship a product. In addition, one year after obtaining BIS, your license must be renewed annually. We will provide follow-up support after you obtain BIS.
